THE PARTNERS

Lorelei Wilson

Lorelei Wilson heads up Mindspace Interior Concepts, a boutique design house offering superior corporate interiors and cutting-edge designs.

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mindspace aims to create bespoke workspaces that inspire, increase productivity and make their occupants feel alive and inspired in their work environment.

Lorelei’s journey began at the age of 17, in her father’s office furniture business where, after a year, she was running the showroom. At the age of 19, she moved to bustling Johannesburg where she worked at Argent Office Furniture and Interiors and later at Grant Andrews, a top furniture company.

Here, she proceeded to manage the sales team, applying the knowledge she gained by attending sales and marketing courses throughout her career.

At the young age of 26, Lorelei launched her own shop-fitting and design business – and the rest, as say, is history.

Lorelei’s personal touch and a policy of honesty set her apart. She personally handles every project, from start to finish, and this hands-on approach allows her to produce a high-quality solution that is innovative, creative and within budget.

Lorelei is inspired by South Africa’s incredible talent and loves being a part of such a rich and artistic country. She visits local and international suppliers and trade shows keeps her and her team up-to-date and informed about the latest trends and changes in the industry.

With over 31 years experience in the industry, Lorelei maintains her creative spirit by working with young, talented designers and learning something new every day.

KIM LUYT-ROSENBURG

“There’s no such thing as a typical day,” says Kim Luyt-Rosenburg, partner at Mindspace Interior Concepts. She explains that every day is as different the various and distinctive projects she takes on, all tackled with a ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude.

Her personal taste leans towards a minimalist, retro aesthetic and she tackles each brief with renewed passion, developing designs around a client’s needs while ensuring it stays true to the brand’s DNA.

She has always had a passion for design and began her journey in the fashion industry, studying at the University of Witwatersrand. After developing a love for architecture, while travelling overseas for four years, Kim studied interior design and project management upon returning to South Africa.

In 2006, she began working with Lorelei Wilson and the two have been together since, forming a partnership. As partners, they handle each project personally, ensuring that clients have one person to talk to, and offer a full turnkey solution for every task – from the drawing board, to the full building, to small details like the bin under a desk, these two design lovers are able to do it all.

Kim fuels her creativity by discovering and supporting local designers and artisans, believing fully in the talent of South Africa. She eagerly stays up-to-date on international design movements but always strives to set the trend, instead of simply following the pack.
